Governor Baker Proclaims March 29 ‘Colleges of the Fenway Day’

BOSTON, Mass., — To help the Colleges of the Fenway consortium celebrate its 20th anniversary, Massachusetts Gov. Charles D. Baker has proclaimed March 29, 2017 “Colleges of the Fenway Day” in the Bay State.

To mark that 20th milestone, COF is holding an awards reception where a video highlighting the group’s achievements over the past two decades will be featured. The reception will recognize faculty, staff, students, alumni and key external partners who have contributed to the consortium’s success. The event is being held on the 6th floor of the Griffin Building, MCPHS University, at 670 Huntington Avenue.

Colleges of the Fenway is a joint effort of six Boston-based schools in the city’s Fenway area: Emmanuel College; Massachusetts College of Art and Design; MCPHS University; Simmons College; Wentworth Institute of Technology; and Wheelock College. The partnership was forged to add value to student academic and social life, while seeking innovative methods of investing in services and containing the costs of higher education.

Combined, the colleges represent more than 12,000 Boston undergraduate students. Each semester, in one of the many benefits created under the partnership, hundreds of students cross-register for courses within the six COF schools. Last year, the consortium helped the member institutions save over $2 million through joint contracts and purchasing.
