Fall Sports

Flag Football – A great way to get out and toss the pigskin around without the fear of being tackled, this 7-on-7 sport is one of COF’s most popular, averaging 50 teams a year. Open, women’s, and co-rec leagues are available. All skill levels welcome and all games are played on Sweeney Field at Wentworth. Leagues begin Sept. 24th.

Outdoor Soccer – Beginning and experienced soccer players are invited to participate in one of the fast paced leagues offered (open, women’s, co-rec). Played on a condensed field, this 7-on-7 sport is guaranteed to offer a great workout. With 75-100 teams annually, don’t miss your chance for bragging rights. All games are played on Sweeney Field at Wentworth and the Winsor School. Games begin Sept 24th.

Volleyball – Bump, set and spike your way to intramural glory. Whether you’ve played casual games on the beach, or led your school to a state title, all skill levels are welcome. Open, women’s and co-rec leagues are available and all matches take place at the Jean Yawkey Center at Emmanuel. Games begin Sept 24th.

Turkey Trot – The 12th Annual “Almost” 5K Fun Run/Walk to benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank during its busiest time of the year, Thanksgiving. Held on Saturday, Nov. 18th, this event is a fun, relaxed atmosphere for all participants. The course is entirely confined within the Back Bay Fens and is open to all students, faculty and staff and their family and friends. AMP Radio will be on-hand to play music. Water and Dominos Pizza are provided. With over 225 participants, this event is one you certainly don’t want to miss.

College Bowl Pick ‘Em – Think you know college football? Prove it. Choose which teams you think will win each bowl game and rack up the points. Collect the most points and win a championship t-shirt and a gift card! The links to register will be posted once the bowls are announced in Dec.

Dodgeball Tournament – If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball. Relive your glory days of middle school with this 6-on-6 sport. Teams try to eliminate players from the other team by throwing rubber dodgeballs at them, while avoiding them at the same tame.  Open, women’s and co-rec leagues available. All matches take place at the Jean Yawkey Center at Emmanuel. The event will take place in late fall.

Winter 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament – Dribble and shoot your way to intramural immortality! This quick paced game allows players of all skill levels to compete. Played on a half-court, players play multiple games each night, until only one team is left standing. The tournament will take place on Dec. 3rd at Winsor School and Emmanuel. Open, Women’s and Co-Rec leagues are available.

Ultimate Frisbee  – Bust out your Wham-O and take part in this non-stop action sport. This 7v7 league will take place on Sweeney Field at Wentworth and at the Winsor School. Open, Women’s and Co-Rec leagues are available.

Madden ’18 Tournament – Test your video game skills against your peers in this tournament! More details to follow.

Whiffleball – Relive your youth playing in the backyard with this fun, fast-paced 4v4 league. All games will be played on Sundays on the Emmanuel Quad from 1-5pm. Open, women’s and co-rec leagues available. Games begin Sept. 24th.

Kayaking the Charles – Get a great view of the city while paddling down the Charles. This event will take place on Sunday, Sept. 24th from 9:30-11:30am. The event is free and open to the first 30 registrants on http://imleagues.com/fenway. Registration will open on Friday, Sept. 8th at 7pm (end of the Block Party). All participants will receive 2 hours on  the water in a single-kayak.

Mini Triathlon – Show off your endurance in this 3-part series of events. Start by swimming in the pool at Simmons, followed by a bike ride on the indoor bikes at Simmons, topped off by a run in the Turkey Trot. All 3 times from the 3 events will be added together to determine an overall winner. More details to follow.

Fall Field Day – Join us on the Emmanuel Quad on Sunday, Sept. 17th from 1-4pm for free food and games and help kick off the fall semester. Games such as cornhole, KanJam, Washers, Lawn Darts, Spikeball and outdoor badminton/volleyball will be available to play. There will be music, food and fun for everyone.

Football Pick ‘Em – Each week, pick the winners of various professional and collegiate football games. Rack up points each week and the overall winner wins a championship shirt and a Visa Gift Card. More details to follow.

This event will take place on Monday, Oct. 30th from 7-10pm (you must get yourself to the location, accessible off the T).
