Exchange Visitors

Overview – Coming to Boston

The US Department of State has designated the Colleges of the Fenway consortium to conduct an “Exchange Visitor” program under the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act (Fulbright-Hayes Act) of 1961.  As such, we are empowered to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries by means of educational and cultural exchanges.

Since 2009, the COF has helped hospitals, schools, colleges and universities throughout Boston and New England to participate in the spirit of this law that assists “in the development of friendly, sympathetic, and peaceful relations between the United States and the other countries of the world.”

Our partnerships involve the exchange of students, specialists, research scholars and professors amongst our five member schools and beyond.  By utilizing a paperless, online collaborative system, we have created a means for navigating complex immigration regulations and overcoming obstacles that is timely, accessible, responsive, flexible and professional.

If you are interested in coming to Boston from abroad for visits of two weeks to five years, contact the GEO Center by phone or by e-mail and let us explore how we can help you. To get in touch with staff at the GEO Center or one of our partner institutions, click here.
